Happy New Year 2012!!*
Spent the last months of 2011 recording some live acoustic tracks in I.E. Studios, the wonderful Dave Tidmarsh producing* Felt really good to get those songs recorded and on the soundcloud:) It felt long overdue.. Also been writing new tracks with TheOptik..so listen out for those..Eskimo being a favourite* Also got an E.P in the pipeline..so roll on the new year*

Tunnel Of War!!!*
Yeyyyy* Happy happiness! Just got the first track i ever wrote back from the wonderful producer Akabaz! I recorded it a while back but his studio was being being refurbished, so the edit and mastering couldn't be finished..
I think its the most personal track for me, because it was at the very beginning, when i started putting pen to paper, also the sound is so raw, must admit i think my vocals have improved in the last year since i recorded it* but its nice to hear progression:) AkaBaz is a drum n bass producer, so he was really trying something new with me..also creating what i wanted..rather than what he likes? if that makes sense.. Well he hit the nail on the head for me and it gave me shivers..so i hope it does the same to you!*

Studio Leicester - with Nollij and Meta4*
So i've spent the last few days working in the studio in Leicester.. Featuring on a track with Nollij and Meta4* Ignorance is bliss..hopefully online soon*
Sylvia Stone and the Pandas!*
Good Afternoon!*
Sooo..the gigs have begun* yeyyy* Loving it..making my way round the Ldn open mic circuit..hoping they'll like us enough to have us back:)
So it started with me and the lovely James Cheeseman who is a guitarist..and producer from TheOptik. (who produced 3 of my tracks:) very very nice folk* Then afer jamming with beatboxer Pikey Esquire from IJH Music, funny little video soon to come of that.. He was happy to drum with his face* Firsttt gig, jamboree east london cable street.. 10min slot..did 3 originals and a cover..'my baby just cares for me" Nina Simone*.. and it all went pretty well for our first gig together*
Now, rehearsals twice a week we did another gig at Jamboree, then Freedom Soho - Matt Lucas was there and gave us a thumbs up..nice* and covered 'I just wanna make love to you' Etta James. Also TheQueensHead Stockwell..covered 'Teardrop' Massive Attack..epic tune...Of course all of these with originals..just thought it would be nice for peeps to hear something they recognise:)
With the nights booked, we got other musicians involved, Andrew Benson on Brass, Kester Hynds on cello and now we have Joff Macey on Base guitar.. All seemed a bit odd calling ourselves Sylvia Stone and a the a hole lot of names...So whats friendly, cute, black and white so therefore matches everything? Yehh a panda* Soooo we now gig under the name Sylvia Stone and the Pandas! Its just a lovely way to get lots of musicians involved and gig under the same name...So come to our next gig! Normally advertised on the Facebook page 'Sylvia Stone' or twitter.. It could be two of us or five! But always a panda party*

Hey! welcome to my blog page..
Mee..my names Sylvia Stone..im a singer*.. love love acoustic /electro/ alternative music.. i write my own stuff..mainly from experiences and things that i care about.. so to the people around me and that know me..thankyou!* simply for telling me your story..or if you made yourself my story..;)*
